It's definitely a challenge to keep Christ in Christmas. We decided when Peyton was born to not even talk about Santa. We just don't do that part of Christmas in our house at all. And yet, the "gimme this, gimme that" mentality still pervades. We have tried very hard this year to keep simplicity in the holiday. We cut back on the gifts we bought and have asked all the family to rein it in. Our desire is to give less stuff and to create more memories with our children, memories that include celebrating the real reason! It's always hard because of how deeply commercial Christmas has begun, but we will continue to work hard to teach our children to celebrate Jesus!
